Surprise proposal shoots are constantly popping up on our Facebook feeds and we still can’t get enough! Imagine a winter palace with all the regal trimmings of a French chateau getaway – that’s precisely why we loved this engagement shoot inspiration. With lots of elegance, a red dress and a romantic proposal, it’s the perfect inspiration to get some ideas for that magical moment!
While preparing for their wedding, so many couples forget to slow down and create time to enjoy being engaged. Planning a wedding can often be a haze of decisions and arrangements. It’s a precious time in one’s life that goes by so quickly and should be embraced, not overshadowed by the stress of planning a wedding. We wanted to create an elegant engagement celebration shoot, where the couple slowed down and celebrated their love.

When planning a romantic proposal, there is a great chance a trip to Paris will come to mind. We found the perfect venue for our shoot – the French chateau on Beau Belle, a boutique farm in Stellenbosch. Chateau Beau Belle is an icon of opulence and grandeur. The red velvet dress from the Loraine Roux Collection symbolised the burning love between our couple. Red not only represents hearts filled with desire but also a strong, independent woman with courage and determination. Our groom donned a black tuxedo with velvet lapel, from Frank Bespoke, which complimented her red velvet dress, black winter shoes from Woolworths and black bolero, also from the Loraine Roux Collection.
To finish off our bride’s look, we added a few elegant jewellery pieces by Jade. To unite opulence with passion, Pippa from Wildeflower, used burgundy orchids in the beautiful bouquet. The attention to detail in the invitation from Lumina Creative Studio was just amazing – with hand drawn leaves and torn edges for effect.
