Evan & Jenny’s Rustic Elegant Wedding

A breezy, beautiful, sunny spring day brought together two best friends in union as husband and wife. With 180 guests attending the joyous wedding celebration of Evan and Jenny, the day couldn’t be more momentous and celebratory. The couple opted for a rustic-elegant style and incorporated the dreamiest spring pastel shades in ivory and dusty shale tones, highlighted with peachy coral accents.

Bursts of fresh and vibrant peonies were paired against a crisp white backdrop which without doubt added to the fresh appeal of this gorgeous spring wedding. Not only do we love the fresh colour combination, but Jenny’s classic A-line dress with strikingly stunning trail, complimented her petite physique an instantly brought an air of elegance to the day’s festivities.

Congrats to this beautiful duo whose special day was captured by Nicole Mehl Photography.

Your story

Evan and I met while at college at Purdue University. Our first conversation covered all kinds of topics from our mutual favourite colour, orange, to our mutual love of God. We were both so smitten. After dating several years, Evan proposed the weekend that I was moving into the apartment where I would live to finish out my last year of graduate school. It was a simple setting with nothing flashy,  just two best friends ecstatically crying and laughing together. It was perfect.

Tell us of your most memorable moments?

I will always remember holding my dad’s arm waiting for the chapel doors to open before we walked down the aisle together. I felt calm and comforted being with my dad, and was so ready to begin the walk to my Evan. As the beautiful music swelled to my favourite part of Canon in D, the chapel doors opened, and we began our walk. I will always remember the joy and thankfulness I felt walking down the aisle and the look on Evan’s face. The chapel really provided such a feeling of intimacy between everyone present at
our ceremony.
…when you see the
finished product of all of your hard work, it is definitely a rewarding
feeling. One of my favourite moments was walking into the decorated chapel for
the first time. I was stunned by the beauty of the flowers and the quiet
serenity of the empty chapel, waiting to be filled with our loved ones …
When we finally got
to sit down at our reception, I sat back for a moment and tried my best to take
everything in. Everything was just as I’d hoped it would be, and I was
surrounded by laughter and love.
