I love winter. Yes, I said it. This statement often draws glares from my summer loving friends, desperately holding on to the last warm evenings and braving the beach even as the chill of autumn has long settled in. For me winter represents comfort, affection, fire places, reading books, rain on the roof… and boots! But recently there has been a winter fashion trend that I love more than boots, wooly scarves and coats combined… the cape. Regal, stylish and just so stunning, capes are the ultimate winter wedding style consideration. I like that you can replace a traditional veil with a cape for a striking and versatile look.
Today’s featured styled-shoot is from Manuela and Martin from FORMA Photography based in Tyrol, Austria. And needless to say it was not only the cape that caught my eye, but also the gorgeous Austrian landscape that was the backdrop for this spectacular styled shoot.
The winter months in Austria can be quite spectacular. The landscape delivers a clean, white backdrop that would complement any white wedding. We have lived here for a long time and sometimes forget how majestic these mountains are. Living here is a privilege – we forget that sometimes. We had the opportunity to work with some amazingly talented people on this shoot. Being able to showcase our country and how gracefully elegant a winter wedding can be here is something we have always wanted to do.
The dress was designed by the talented Munich designer Elfenkleid, which loosely translates to ‘dress of an elf’. The shoot was a bit nippy, but our models Kathrina and Philipp braved the cold so that we could capture these beautiful images.
