These creatives didn’t let a little rain stop them from having fun – it actually captured the romance of an afternoon tropical shower perfectly! We loved the bold colours and tropical setting that was so beautifully paired – delicious monster umbrellas should definitely be a must-have accessory this winter! We asked photographer, Peachy Keen, to tell us more about their day.
We had this amazing idea and when we started organising it, everything just fell into place – except the weather! The outfits were both borrowed from from South African designers, Miss Money Penny and Leigh Schubert (from Purple House Boutique) and we were lucky enough to raid a local boutique, Outrageous, for gorgeous jewels! We shot at Umtamvuna River Lodge, near the Wild Coast, and all the flowers used for the table were from the garden. We wanted it to be a celebration of wild, natural South African beauty.
Recreating the scene
The outfits, hair and make-up all had a huge part to play in making this shoot what it was. Don’t be afraid to step out the box when it comes to hair and make-up – even if it’s yellow eye shadow!
Teamwork makes the dream work
We had the incredible privilege of working with a group of awesome creatives. Working together and making this shoot a modern-day Tarzan and Jane was fun-filled, muddy and crazy. Thank goodness for umbrellas and delicious monsters – by the end of the shoot we were all soaked!
A massive thank you to Nicole from Umtamvuna River Lodge for the best cappuccinos! – Kerry, Kiss the Bride
