Dear Me Shop Tour

We recently popped into one of our favourite food spots in Cape Town, Dear Me. This inviting eatery is one of our favourites for both its delicious and healthy fair, as well as its playful decor-the perfect combo, in my opinion!

We met up with owner Ilze Koekemoer, to talk about Dear Me. Ilze tells us that the idea to open up an eatery started when they purchased the old heritage building, which took them over a year to renovate. For help with Dear Me’s decor she called on the talented Francois du Plessis. And the pretty labels, logos and branding that Dear Me is so well known for, had the magic touch of Daniel Ting Chong.

A big thank you to Claudia De Nobrega for the lovely pictures. Dear Me 165 Longmarket Street, Cape Town 021 422 4920. For more find them on Facebook or Twitter.

It feels like home and has a lot of variety in terms of decor and design.DIY projects include …
We tried to buy a lot of second-hand furniture that we refurbished to make it more interesting.I splurged on …
The Gregor Jenkins steel table, the wooden deli shelving, the green restaurant chairs. My advice for other decor enthusiasts is …
Decorate in a style that you like. Do not try and please others. Try and reflect your own personality and style and hope for the best! The biggest challenge was …
Renovating an almost 200-year-old dilapidated building, trying to keep/preserve what remained but also to incorporate some more current trends. What do you love most about the space?
The variation of different decor style on each level .
