I could babble about this wedding the whole day. But there’s simply one word that can describe this outdoor soirée, and that’s magical. Johnny from The Aleit Group did such an amazing job with Craig and Carolyn’s wedding. The whole affair was filled to the brim with gorgeous details and romantic touches. The bride looked simply wonderful in her Gert van de Merwe gown. We’re also loving her gorgeous hair and corsage-style bouquet. As for the groom, well he couldn’t look more dashing! Jean- Pierre Uys brilliantly captured Craig and Carolyn’s big day.
Craig and I were both invited by friends to a dinner party, which we both did not want to attend. The party was for singles but we were promised that it was not a matchmaking party and were both dreading the “matchmaking” dynamic. We were seated next to each other at the dinner party and eventually struck up a conversation. At the end of the evening a list was sent around for people to jot down their email and contact details so that those who wanted to could keep in touch. I purposefully wrote down incorrect details! After the party Craig was away on business for two weeks and on his return was not able to reach me with the incorrect details I had supplied. Remembering who I worked for however he tracked me down and asked me to go out with him. I turned him down but eventually went out for dinner and that is when romance blossomed.
He popped the question on the most romantic weekend away at Summerfields Rose Retreat in Hazyview. One night at dinner, in front of everyone, he proposed!
What was the highlight of your wedding day?
It was absolutely the celebration we wanted it to be. Our family and friends had a marvelous time and the memories will remain with us forever.
