Every year, almost as a ritual, pastel hues and blossoms welcome the arrival of spring. One cannot deny that a duo of milky hues and sweet smelling blooms will always be refreshing and refreshment is exactly what we need to end of a cold and dreary winter season. For our editorial spring shoot, Christine Meintjes got behind the lens at the gorgeous Brenaissance Wine & Stud Estate. This year at fashion week, we collaborated with Rosenwerth as media partner. The inspiration for their 2013 collection was ‘The Bride’ and we completely fell in love with the handy work of Stephan and Gabi.
I could not imagine any couturier more suitable to transform our two models Carla and Kim into whimsical spring fairies. For our decorative table, we combined the talents of Fleur Le CordeurCotton Cloud Letterpress and Laura Mitchell Cake Couture. The end result was magical. Notice the gradual expression of a few budding garden bulbs progressing gradually to a symphony of spring flowers? Hoodoo designs offered some gorgeous silver jewellery, also inspired by nature’s endless beauty. How about a light and dainty pancake tier?
… spring is about freshness, new beginnings,
whimsical gowns, romantic and dreamy colours, cool breezes, soft sunshine and even the occasional rainy day.
…when you merge soft hues of pistachio, blush, lilac-lavender
and creamy white the result speaks spring.

Everything in this shoot spells out: SPRING! The models absolutely suit the scenes, the food/flowers/tones… just perfect. Too bad it’s not Spring here :( Well done – very crisp, fresh photos!

Pear & blue cheese quiche with rocket & pecans

There are few things as underrated as a good quiche. It’s so easy to make and one of the best options for a light lunch or a tea table during Spring time.I love the combination of pears, blue cheese, rocket and pecan nuts in a salad.
