Today’s beautiful couple shoot was captured by Taryn Rahl. Think fairy tale in the forest as Beate strapped on her points and tightened her ‘tutu’ to captivate the likes of her handsome fiancé Johannes. Different, daring and yet so true to the couple, this engagement shoot is a dreamy reflection of true life through a romantic lens. Beate, a real life ballerina, will undoubtedly be a graceful bride without difficulty. We can only imagine how thrilled and delighted their kids will be one day when discovering these almost surreal images of ‘mom and dad’.

Their Story

My grandmother and Johannes’ mother decided to play matchmaker, they obviously knew what they were doing, as we were head over heels in love from the moment we met. We started chatting online at first, as Johannes was in Eritrea in North-East Africa. We soon discovered that we had lots of things in common, like our love for the ocean. Eventually it was time for Johannes to come home to Port Elizabeth for a three week visit. We couldn’t wait to see each other and made arrangements to go for coffee as soon as he arrived, which was also our first date. From the moment I laid eyes on him, I knew he was a keeper. We saw each other every day for that following three weeks, and he eventually asked me to be his girlfriend. He went back to Eritrea, and from there on we had a long distance Skype relationship. On his return to South Africa we became inseparable. In February this year Johannes asked me to be his wife.
