Happy new Year pretty blog readers! As the temperature keeps on rising I’m constantly reminded that as a Cape Town resident I live in one of the top holiday destinations in the world. However even in this sweltering weather I still dream of tropical islands and bustling foreign cities…

For this week’s DIY I’m appealing to all those who have been bitten by the travel bug or love a good adventure! With a fill-in passport invitation and some simple luggage tags, guests will be prepared for a Globetrotter themed party! Just pop in an appropriate photo in the place provided and fill out the party details (it’s perfect for engagement parties, showers and birthday soirees!). Use the simple tag template to make your own luggage tags, great for adorning thank you gifts or as placecards. I even added a bit of leftover clear plastic to make my tags more authentic!

Expand the Globetrotter theme by using maps as table runners, paper plane mobiles for décor and of course some individually wrapped bags of peanuts and mini cooldrink cans for guests as they arrive.

Looking forward to a bright new year filled with crafts and other special projects!

I must ask, where did you find those divine airmail cards? I absolutely adore them!

Hi Lena, the airmail cards are actually vintage airmail envelopes I salvaged from a clearout of my family’s home office… they were headed for the bin can you believe it! Still saving them for the perfect occasion :)

    Bianca,

Is there a way you could send me these printables in a different format so that I could change the wording? I am wanting to use these as a handout for my lesson for church with the youth as their passport to Come unto Christ. I know how to use photoshop. Thanks!

Homemade Nutty Seed Brittle

After Nicola and Tasha suggested that we shoot a type of brittle, I did some research and put a recipe together from my previous experience with sugar caramel. Nut brittle makes such a beautiful gift, and everyone loves the seductive crack of nuts and hard caramel. When it was time to test it, I learned the hard way that a brittle is not always as simple as it seems.
