On a scorching hot summer’s day last week some of our amazing contributors joined us for a leisurely lunch, to round of the eventful year. We took shelter under big oak trees at a long, beautifully set table for an al fresco feast.Entertaining our friends was a breeze with Poetry’s Homeware range. Platters and jugs from locally made Wonki Ware was the perfect match for our rustic al fresco look that we wanted to create. Every Wonki Ware piece is unique and are great to mix and match.

Lunch was served in big Wonki Ware platters laden with the most delicious food while we sipped crisp white wine from imported glassware exclusive to Poetry stores. And slicing into a tender piece of fillet a Laguiole knife and fork, makes for a very luxurious experience. For a moment I imagined being somewhere in the Mediterranean.
All the ladies from the team also got to pick their favourite outfit from the Poetry Store. Lucky us!

What better way to end off an eventful year, than in flowy summer dresses, around a beautifully set table with scrumptious food, elegant wine and a group of inspiring people.
Anneke is wearing a Diana Linen Maxi Dress, Christine is wearing the Delani colour-block blouse. The Lettie colour blocked maxi dress was my choice. Carin looked alle summery in her Nelley Dress with its embroidery detail. The navy Onella dress with cut-out hem and bodice detail was the perfect choice for Roeleen.

How To – Smouldering Eyes for Winter

When we think of the traditional smokey eye, colours in a darker palette like browns, greys and black usually comes to mind. We’ve decided to use the basic technique of achieving a smokey eye, but instead of the dark colours we opted for a combination of copper, brown and cranberry eye-shadows to create a warm winter look. With Ida Webster’s help we put together an easy, step-by-step tutorial for this shimmering smokey eye make-up look, that you can try at home.
