you need a free My Pretty Things account.

For the DIY today, we decided to make something that is quite easy and fun to create, a handmade mobile. We wanted to get into the autumn feel of things and decided to hang these cute squirrel-acorn-leaf designs from our mobile.
Now this is where the fun part comes in: you can create these designs out of a variety of materials such as cork (which we used here), pretty, colourful papers, fabric, felt or wood, the choice is yours. You can also combine these different materials to create a specific mood or theme to your mobile.

  • Step 1

Print the downloaded PDF onto thick A4 paper or card.
  • Step 2

Trim each shape by cutting on the dotted line with your scissors or craft knife.
  • Step 3

To make the mobile out of different materials like cork, trace the card cut-out onto the cork sheet and trim the shape with your crafting knife.
  • Step 4

Take a piece of string (± 50 cm) and attach it to the middle of each wooden stick.
  • Step 5

Make a small hole in each of your cut-out shapes you want to use and tie another piece of string to it (vary the lengths).
  • Step 6

Connect the top of these strings with a bulldog clip to both edges of the 25 cm and the 20 cm sticks.
  • Step 7

Attach the top string to the roof or a light.
  • Step 8

Balance the mobile by moving the string from side to side until it is level.

Girly pink pony party

On the 1st of March, Milla was showered with love from friends and ponies alike. It was a special occasion to celebrate her 8th birthday and I can see in the sweetly happy smiles of the girls, the ponies (pink and real) were as much a part of the fun as the girls themselves. Although mother Theunette Heinlein has her own events company, she couldn’t have created the lovely day without Milla’s great love for horses and intuitive knack for matching vintage teal and pink. It gave the pony party a unique atmosphere that the girls adored.
