DIY Pin Board

October 10, 2013 by post tags
I am always looking for space to pin up some important notes or photos or just something pretty that inspires me. Finally I got a solution that is quite easy to make and rather pretty too. Today we show you how to make your own DIY pin board in a few easy steps. The same principal can be used for a kitchen pin board or a pin board for the kids’ room. Simply change the fabric for a different look.

You will need:

  • Large wooden embroidery hoop
  • Piece of fabric that will fit over the hoop
  • An old leather belt, piece of leather or ribbon the same height as the hoop.
  • Needle and thread
  • Some double-sided tape
  • A pair of sharp scissors
  • Pins

  • Step 1

Place the wooden embroidery frame onto your fabric and trim the excess material so that there is a 10 cm border all around the hoop.
  • Step 2

Place you fabric over the inside hoop and keep it in place by adjusting the outside hoop over it. Be sure to get the outside hoop as tight as possible over the fabric.
  • Step 3

Take your needle and thread and sew all the back ends together, so that they do not pop out behind the frame.

  • Step 4

Place some double-sided tape onto the leather belt or ribbon and stick it all around the bottom end of you frame.

  • Step 5

Adjust the belt or ribbon to your required length. Now it’s time to organise your desk and pin notes and reminders to your brand new pin board.

Elaine & Bryan, A Summer Countryside Celebration

A blind date has the potential to be much more than an awkward evening. For Elaine and Bryan it surely became more. Little did they know, that a blind date would become a refreshing summer’s day in the countryside to celebrate with 84 friends.I am excited to see that a vintage and rustic atmosphere can be so completely natural. It resonates fully with the love of the outdoors that this merry couple have. With the help of Brightgirl Photography, I’m happy to share the start of a beautiful journey from Nottingham Road in the Natal Midlands.
