We end the weekend on a high note. The wedding of Luca and Carol is a visual delight, a breath of fresh air and any photographer’s dream. After 7 years of dating, this creative duo, both working in the advertising industry, knew exactly what they wanted for their big day. They stayed true to a style of classic minimalism with many elegant and graceful finishing touches.
When the formidable Izette, owner of Landtscap and Leipzig, told me about her idea to create table decor ideas using the “ugly ducklings” of the colour world, I was all ears. I mean, how genius and refreshing is that? The creative all girls team at Landtscap and Leipzig dreamed up this series “Colours to Preserve”.
There are so many occasions where beautiful cakes are needed – baby showers, birthdays, engagement parties and weddings to name a few. But, really, who actually needs an excuse to decorate and eat delicious cake? Why not celebrate the small things too?
Chrismo & Shani connected through the world of modelling to eventually tie the knot years later. Embracing the concept of a celebration that reflects the essence and essential fundamentals, we can evidently see how less is more and classic will always be classy. Although I’m always a sucker for an old-fashioned cold potato salad with store-bought mayonnaise, I sometimes like to change things up a bit and serve my potato salad warm with a flavoured oil or a butter sauce and lots of fresh herbs.
With the help of some talented creatives, we manipulated reality to travel to an enchanted pine forest, where the formality of traditional bridal couture made way for the softer, free-flowing gowns of designer Gabi Rosenwerth. We used green foliage with accents of mellow, burnished yellow to suggest the warming tones of sunlight that brightens an autumn day.

Husband and wife design duo Adriaan Hugo and Katy Taplin opened their 6 square meter flagship store 2007, specialising in lighting, storage, gifts and garden products.*
