“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother. ” – Abraham Lincoln. I could’t agree more and I’m sure most of us feel this way. Our moms have given birth to us, shared their personal attributes with us, cared for us, loved us and brought us up to be the people we are today. Let’s celebrate them, thank them and spoil them for all they have done.
One of my sweet childhood memories were getting measured, I was quite tall so I always “won” my siblings. We moved to another house when I was 12, and the wall with all the little marks were painted over so I will never know how tall a 7 year old Nicola was. Sadly many special reminders of little loved ones are lost when they grow up.
When I’m out for dinner and there’s pork belly on the menu, I’ll probably end up ordering it. Although it’s traditionally a very fatty cut of meat, it can be one of the most rewarding cuts to eat: tender like a cloud, filled with flavours from heaven.
