Spice for Life {Cooking Classes}

December 14, 2011 by post tags
When you meet Christine’s wonderful mom, Petro, it’s clear that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Christine definitely got her sense of style and creativity from her mother. Petro is just one of the most wonderful cooks I’ve ever met. When I walked into her kitchen for the first time, I was like a kid in a candy store. Petro has the tools and gadgets that foodie dreams are made of, and she puts them to good use! I have had many wonderful meals (I should rather call them feasts) at Petro’s house. But Petro also has the same generous spirit at Christine. She was asked by her church to do a food demonstration to raise money for an outreach to India. In keeping with the “theme” Petro opted to do the demonstration on spices.
I popped in just before the big demonstration and I can tell you everything looked, smelled and tasted divine. Alright, I’ll stop making you hungry. The reason I’m telling you all this is because Petro offered to do a giveaway cooking class to our readers. We know that nowadays we girls focus on our careers and sometimes the cooking falls by the wayside. So if you’re hopeless in the kitchen our just eager to broaden your culinary horizons then you have to enter this giveaway. See details below.

Ek kan se^ ek kan nie kook nie, maar ek kan! Ek kan se^ ek besit nie een kookboek nie, maar ek dink ek het oor ‘n duisend. Ek kan net vra: kies my, want dit is so lekker. Indien ek wel ‘n beurt kry, sal ek graag die “teatime real treats” wil bywoon!

I Would love to win this prize, in order to give it away! Strange but true. My best friend, Mia, is a single lady who knows how to cook, but never has the confidence to do so. She is beautiful in and out, but some part of her believes strongly in the fact that you have to know how to cook, before you get married. So, she is scared to get serious in a relationship, because she isn’t “ready”! Ha! So give it to me, so I can bless her with this gift!

Resepteboeke is my storieboeke.

I am a terrible cook. I once cooked ‘skenkels’ for my boyfriend thinking that it was ‘pot meat’ but he was so sweet that he even tried to eat them. I would therefore love to attend classy dinner or dinner for two so that i can make him a proper meal and not gamey meat with rice and veggies.

Summer food for the beach house – course!

Meat is meat and man must eat
and my man sure can appreciate a treat.
So if I can cook like Mrs Nigella
Fill the beach house with the aroma of mozzarella
I might just find life’s perfect spice,
Hear him say more than “That was nice”
So if Chef Petro could find it in her heart
To assure, me and my man will never part!
And if you’ll be the helping hand behind this cooking force
You’ll let me come on this cooking course!

I am such a foodie freak… and LOVE spending time in the kitchen, especially when it will be to treat my family. I must admit i know how to cook and bake, but any little tricks and new ideas are always welcome.
Teatime real treats :) will be my favourite!

Francois & Lenate’s Beach Sunrise Shoot

Today we share the beautiful honeymoon shoot of Lenate & Francois who were the lucky winners of a couple shoot competition run by the lovely Claire Harries Photography. What made this shoot so fantastic was that the couple got up at 3 am to be camera ready at the crack of dawn for a sunrise shoot on Llandudno beach. The early morning mist and light was spectacular and certainly contributed a great deal to enhance the dreaminess of these beautiful images. Enjoy!
