Bee-autiful {Party Ideas}

February 1, 2012 by
Remember Lara Scott? Just to refresh your memory, we featured one of her shoots last week. Well, it turns out that she’s not only a great photographer, she’s also a supermom. As I was browsing her site I came across these pictures of her son’s bee-themed birthday party. How cute! It was for her little boy Kellan Grey Scott who turned one. Lara says “ever since he was a tiny baby he loved looking at mobiles with bees and butterflies that I would hang over his cot and in his room.
I decided that this was so very special as it brought him so much delight. I decided on a bee party theme and began searching for ideas that were delicate and stylish without being too hard on the eyes. He is a sensitive little boy, so I wanted the party to still be soft and gentle”.We love the theme because it’s perfect for a boy or a girl. And like Lara says, it’s soft and gentle, so it could even work for a baby shower.
Cake and cupcakes: Whimsical Cupcakes, Glass Bottles: Merry Pak and Consol Glass, The honey jars were Consol glass and bee motive done Lara Scott, Ice-cream sundae glassware was bought at Nap Living, Photographers: Lara Scott and Nastassja Harvey, Styling: Lara Scott

    No offense to Lara, but this is really girly. Awesome shots though of all the detail.

Elaine & Bryan, A Summer Countryside Celebration

A blind date has the potential to be much more than an awkward evening. For Elaine and Bryan it surely became more. Little did they know, that a blind date would become a refreshing summer’s day in the countryside to celebrate with 84 friends.I am excited to see that a vintage and rustic atmosphere can be so completely natural. It resonates fully with the love of the outdoors that this merry couple have.With the help of Brightgirl Photography, I’m happy to share the start of a beautiful journey from Nottingham Road in the Natal Midlands.
