We’ve always wanted to do a pretty bridal shoot in the bustling City of Gold. And when Christine made her way to Johannesburg some time ago, we got our chance. Candice from Absolute Perfection offered to pull together a romantic wedding decor look, especially for our readers.
If you haven’t heard of minted yet, they are a very hip, online stationery site that crowd sources all of their designs. That’s a fancy way of saying, each month they hold a challenge for a type of card and designers from all over the world enter. The end result is there is something for every aesthetic! We had the pleasure of guest judging one of their recent wedding challenges.
When the formidable Izette, owner of Landtscap and Leipzig, told me about her idea to create table decor ideas using the “ugly ducklings” of the colour world, I was all ears. I mean, how genius and refreshing is that? The creative all girls team at Landtscap and Leipzig dreamed up this series “Colours to Preserve”.
With the help of some talented creatives, we manipulated reality to travel to an enchanted pine forest, where the formality of traditional bridal couture made way for the softer, free-flowing gowns of designer Gabi Rosenwerth. We used green foliage with accents of mellow, burnished yellow to suggest the warming tones of sunlight that brightens an autumn day.
Imagine a grey beach on a typical grey day in Holland. You can’t say where the sea starts or the sky ends as the grey colours are one. Inside this melancholic setting there is a stunning bride in a golden dress with beautiful colourful flowers.
Following an exceptional but exhausting wedding is a short period of untainted bliss, relaxation and time spent with your significant other. Understandably you may envision your honeymoon as stillness after the storm, so what can ultimately beat the joy of a dream getaway?
