Four years ago Kowie Pretorius left the corporate world to be at home with her children. The family found their dream home, and Kowie poured all her creative energy into revamping the house for her young family.
Gretha Bester, co-owner of Makietie Linen, opens her lovely family home to us today. We met Gretha and Janine from Makietie at Kamers vol Geskenke last year, and fell in love with their gorgeous linen range. Some of you may have seen that we used Makietie linen for some of our food shoots. The fabric is not just beautiful, but also super photogenic, and made our job really easy.
Remember Anatomy Design, one of the coolest decor shops in Johannesburg? We showcased their gorgeous space in 44 Stanley a few weeks ago and today we head to the place the co-owner of Anatomy Design, Megan Hesse, calls home.
I love the beach. Sandy feet and the smell of the ocean makes me happy, and so I secretly envy people who has a permanent view of the ocean. It seems when you live at the beach that you’re allowed to take things a little easier. And that is exactly why the Roux family bought this quaint beach house 25 years ago, when Melkbosstrand was still a little seaside West Coast village.
For our home tour we head off to the beautiful old house of the Le Cordeur family from Paarl. Heike Le Cordeur is a wonderfully creative florist and the home she shares with her husband Andrew, and their two children Luca and Indya, is just as lovely as the arrangements she dreams up.
We make our way today to Oranjezight to take a peek at the home of Magdel van der Walt, the one half of Tintown. The Van der Walt family have been living in their home for nine years, and Magdel says it was “love at first sight” for her.
