At the end of last year my husband and I took the plunge and bought ourselves a proper coffee machine. There hasn’t been a day that I’ve regretted that choice, it has changed my life dramatically. I can now officially be labelled a coffee snob because nothing compares to bean-to-cup coffee.
I’ve never been that good at gift wrapping, I love decorating gifts, but the actual wrapping has never really been my strong suit. It’s reasonably easy when the gift is square or rectangular – but most of time it’s not. That’s why I simply love gift bags.
So much attention and detail goes into creating, designing and printing wedding invites. Sadly we sometimes forget about the envelope and how we address it. I mean, what’s more delightful than receiving a beautifully addressed letter? It makes you double as excited to open it.
It’s such a cliché to say the year flew past, but seriously . . . feels like I’ve been on fast forward since June. I’ll be spending Christmas with my family in Newcastle and will be back for the new year in Langebaan. We’re thinking of hosting a new years gathering with a few friends, which I’m extremely excited about. I want to create an exciting celebratory feel, without going over-the-top or having to much waste.
There is something about wreaths that makes my heart go all warm and fuzzy. A house with a big, leafy wreath on the front door exudes hospitality and welcomes you in. I always imagine big feast preparations in process behind that front door. I am extremely proud to say that this year my front door looks like one of those.
