We have had a wonderful year at The Pretty Blog in 2012. As you’ve probably seen, we have grown in many ways. In the past year, we introduced more Lifestyle features, included more contributors and embarked on quite a few new adventures. As we take on new challenges and projects in 2013, we know that we will need more people to make all our dreams become a reality.
Nicola and I have been fans of Minted for a while. You can just imagine how excited and surprised we were when this amazing San Francisco based company asked us to guest judge their latest invitation challenge. Even though they are based in the USA, they have designers creating beautiful stationery for them all over the world.
The Pretty Blog recently celebrated her second birthday which is a dream come true for me. I’m a big dreamer and most people know it, but never could I imagine this project would grow so fast and so successfully. Yesterday I said a few words to all our contributors, over a light lunch at our spring party where we celebrated The Pretty Blog’s second birthday.
This weekend Iaan and I visited Decorex at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. We love design, home decor and innovative ideas. While walking through the exhibition, we found some really cool things. Here are a few photos of our favourite finds at Decorex this year.
Kitchen teas (or bridal showers) are one of those special occasions where you get the opportunity to spoil, affirm and tell that amazing friend, or in my case a sister, how special she really is. When my sister Lydia got engaged, the one thing I wanted was to organise a beautiful kitchen tea for her.
I had the honour of celebrating the Christening of a dear friend’s baby last weekend. After the service we were spoilt with lots of yummy treats. Among others, a delicious Hummingbird Cake. I couldn’t resist the urge to grab my camera and take a picture.
One of my favourite styled shoots of 2011 so far has been Betina and Wouter’s couple shoot. Betina is a stylist in Cape Town and she helped me put together a stunning lilac shoot for one of my workshops, which also doubled up as their engagement shoot. The shoot was done in Middedorp Manor in Stellenbosch
