Pink & Turquoise Tea Party {Decor Inspiration}

When one of the finest wedding photographers in the UK sends you an email, you take notice. And when she submits a fabulous styled shoot, you freak out a little. That’s exactly what Carla and I did here in the office when we saw Marianne Taylor and florist Steph Turpin‘s beautiful turquoise and pink styled shoot.

These two creative girls met after they worked together on a wedding, and they immediately hit it off. Marianne says they have a very similar sense of style and share a love for all things pretty, whimsical and rustic. After working together a few times  they got the idea for a day of creating something purely for the love of it. And taking breathtakingly beautiful pictures. Duh!

Marianne tells us about the inspiration behind the shoot: “I’ve been obsessed with a pink & turquoise colour scheme for a while, so that was our starting point. We then decided to go for two different setups, one that was a quirky tea party with a twist, incorporating surprising elements like an antler etc. The other a rustic picnic type party, for which we wanted a cute Victoria sponge cake, decorated with flowers, as a focal point.

We love every bit of this adorable tea  party. This theme and colour scheme could be interpreted for any event from a wedding to a baby shower. Thanks Marianne and Steph for sending this over. It made us very happy!

I love anything to do with food {especially eating}, collecting pretty things, nesting, afternoon naps, reading and pinning. I am terrible at any kind of needle work, and I secretly envy those who can knit, sew and crochet. Freshly picked jasmin makes me happy. If I could choose my last meal on earth it, would be warm ciabatta bread with lashings of butter.

    I was so inspired by this post that I used as inspiration for hosting a Tea baby shower for my sister. While mine doesn’t quite do yours justice I think on a smaller budget it can hold its own: http://www.citymom.ca/2013/02/vintage-afternoon-tea/
