I don’t know where to start with this wedding! The beautiful location, the olive wreaths and the lovely stationery all makes me swoon. I just can’t get enough of this stunning celebration. It’s filled with beautiful moments, darling details and of course an oh-so-in-love couple.
There’s something so charming and honest about this country soiree, and I find it so refreshing (it probably has something to do with the dogs). Don’t get me wrong, I love lace and beads. But this wedding just proves that you don’t need all the glitz and glamour to pull off a stylish affair. Peter-Allan and his lovely bride Nicolene took the trip down the aisle in January. They said their vows in front of 160 loved ones on the beautiful farm, Gabrielskloof, in the Overberg.

Tell us your love story?
We met at the Botriver Mini-market – I fell in love with Peter-Allan’s voice before anything else!
So how did he pop the question?
He took me to a very special place – Redelinghuys, where we were supposed to go and visit a friend’s parents for the weekend. Our friend even came with as a decoy! Shortly after we’d arrived, we went for an evening stroll, and right in the middle of town he went down on one knee, and asked. It was a most natural thing. And very easy to say – yes, of course!
What were the highlight of your wedding day?
Being able to enjoy ourselves, really have a good time with our friends!
Any advice for brides-to-be?
Focus on enjoying yourselves!!
Did anything unexpected happen?
Hmm… our dogs were much more, eh, “involved” in the ceremony than we expected.
Where did you get most of your ideas and inspiration from?
Our wedding co-ordinator trio – Cornelia Badenhorst and Judy Graaff of “De Liefde” and the amazing Jan-Georg Solms of Halfaampieskraal.
What song did you choose for your opening dance and why?
Bow-wow-wow “I want candy” – just because we could.
