A save the date is one of those elements that many brides I know go without. Save the dates have only recently started to take off but I still get many people asking me what they are and how they differ from an invite. Sometimes you need to throw caution to the wind. In food terms, that would mean: ignore the kilojoules, and go for pure pleasure. These long eclairs (or choux buns, as they are also referred to) are filled with slices of fresh banana and sweetened vanilla-pod cream, then topped with pure Nutella spread straight from the jar.
For this week’s shop tour we stay in Stellenbosch to visit The Farmer’s Daughter in Bird Street. It is owned by well known stylist Retha Erichsen. And needless to say The Farmer’s Daughter is a reflection of Retha’s wonderful trendsetting style and attention to detail.
