It’s Monday, which means that we have one magnificent wedding coming up. If you’re a lover of all things vintage or simply a romantic at heart, then you’re going to go crazy over this wedding. Tony and Wilmi’s intmate wedding was packet with to die for details from yesteryear.
The wonderful couple tied the knot early November last year at the beautiful venue Roodezandt in Tulbagh. This countryside venue is beyond gorgeous, and served as the perfect backdrop for Tony and Wilmi’s wedding feast.
The wonderful Nikki Meyer was behind the lens.
Tell us your love story?
With neither of us being ones to turn down a drink on a sunny Friday afternoon, a mutual friend invited us to local bar. Neither of us were aware of the set up.. So that’s when we met. We cant believe that we have been together over 4 years. Our relationship still feels new and exciting.
So how did he pop the question?
We went to Tulbagh for a weekend break. Neither of us knew what to expect because we had never been to Tulbagh before. Tony seemed very quite on the drive there and I could not stop talking because I was sooo excited to stay in a tree house! Tony thought of everything. When we got to our tree house, there was a heart on the bed made out of rose pettles. Cold champagne and a magnificent view. We sat on the deck chatting. Tony asked me so many questions about getting married. That at the end of the conversation I was absolutely sure that he will never ask me. But 10 minutes later my whole world changed. It was very emotional and perfect!
What were the highlights of your wedding day?
Getting ready with my Mom The absolute happiness when I was walking down the aisle Tony and I spending the evening with all the people we love.
Any advice for brides-to-be?
Find a venue and a good photographer and book them immediately. Don’t skimp on the photography!! This is your time, enjoy planning it and celebrate everything! If you find the perfect shoe have a glass of champaign with your girlfriends! Remember what it is about and have fun!
Any time saving or organising tips?
Make sure you have a clear idea of what you want and google! Have a check list and allocate jobs for friends and family.
Any hints for other brides on how to keep your wedding budget friendly?
How did you cut the costs? Check out www.wedsite.com for your wedding invites. It was a big money saver. Also, do your own flowers, I only got my bouquet made.
What song did you choose for your opening dance ?
At Last by Etta James. I absolutely love this song and it suited our wedding theme.
Please describe your wedding dress. What made you “fall in love” with the dress?
The dress was made by a wonderful lady called Mrs Hendriks. The top half was lace. I wanted something timeless and romantic.
