Today I would like to share with you a really simple, yet easy box template. So often I get asked by brides to assist in packaging favours like almonds, chocolate truffles and small cakes. This box is perfect for this, and can be customised and decorated to match any style of event.
Download your chosen base and lid template – I have created two variations with a ‘Thank You’ message, or download the plain base and lid and print onto patterned card stock for an easy ‘instant’ decorate box.
The Base:

The base is really easy to fold. Once printed, cut along solid line. Score all the inner lines. With a bone folder (*if you do not have one then the back of a clean spoon will also work) fold the side panels in, rotate circle until all four sides are folded. Now start tucking the triangle flap to the center. Repeat with all four flaps. No glue is required as the lid will keep the sides together.
The Lid:

Print the lid onto card stock, and cut with small scissor or craft knife along solid line. Score all inner dashed lines. With a bone folder *or your spoon* fold all the scored sides. (Step 1) It is much easier to complete the lid once you have folded over all the score lines first. (Step 2) Bring the sides up and tuck the flaps under the adjacent side flap. (Step 3 & 4) Repeat. (Step 5) You should have a lid that looks like this. Final step is just to fold the last two flaps in – if you see that these do not stay closed you can add a little strip of double sided tape to secure.
Voila! You have your lid and base done … and can now decorate this little box as you wish. For the flower lid box I bought small silk roses, printed a thank you tag, and stuck this onto the lid with the flower on top. The options are endless… use ribbon, lace, a thank you tag… or even a small trinket to decorate your favour box! Most importantly …. have fun and get everyone to help you!
Happy crafting.
